GEO SCAVENGER EXPERIENCE
A Hi-Tech Treasure hunt blending technology and teambuilding

Geo Scavenging infuses team and leadership skills through technology and adventure. This custom designed event will begin with some unique group ice breakers and deinhibitizers. After the initial event orientation the group will be divided into three teams of six. The teams will then head out for a high-tech treasure hunt. The hunt will be fun, challenging, and allow all participants the opportunity to experience the vast beauty of Palmetto Bluff.

Each team is given a GPS unit, digital camera, a map and initial clues. Utilizing the GPS units, given clues, and creative thinking skills, each team collaborates to find “caches”, which often take the form of hidden boxes or team challenges. At each location the team will also be instructed to take a specific photograph.

Every team will be assisted by a Palmetto Bluff Outfitters facilitator. These individuals provide technical assistance, act as safety monitors, and keep the event coordinator informed of their team’s location. Your teams will need to use their own leadership, decision-making, technical skills and common sense to ascend above the other teams as well as work together towards the common company goal.

The goals of the program will be to obtain the most points. Points are gained through reaching caches, competing challenges, and taking photographs.

After the event a DVD photo presentation of the program can be compiled and supplied.

The event will be designed so that all individuals can participate. All activities will be golf cart or walking based, and no prior knowledge or experience is required.

Daufuskie Island boasts several artisans studios which may be included on your tour. 'The Iron Fish' is a must see. Here, Metal Artist and Blacksmith Chase Allen forges timeless works of art out of steel that have been featured in Coastal Living and Southern Living magazines. Across the road is the 'Silver Dew Pottery' where island native Lancy and Emily Burn have been producing an impressive array of functional, aesthetic and art pottery since 1996. And recently opened 'The Daufuskie Gallery' displays a variety of work by more than a dozen artists, most of whom are residents of Daufuskie Island.
